Rome apartment with pool - General Description

This extensive estate just 40km north of Rome has belonged to the same family for over 150 years. Thanks to the original appeal of the estate and its unspoilt surroundings, the property has been used on several occasions for filming one of Italy's most well known period TV serials. The apartment has its own independent entrance in one of the two farmhouses. It combines comfort with the characteristic farmhouse charm. The facilities are modern whilst retaining many of the period furnishings.  The apartment sleeps up to five people in two large bedrooms, dining/sitting area, modern kitchenette and bathroom. It enjoys unspoilt views, offers well looked-after gardens for relaxing outdoors and a wonderful pool with a spectacular panorama.

The owners can also provide some meals on arrangement – homemade typical dishes for a very reasonable extra charge.

The Area

The villa is ideally situated permitting guests to relax and enjoy the pool -side comforts in a country setting while a short drive away there is the magnificence of Rome such as the Colosseum and the splendour of St. Peter’s Basilica.

The historical and picturesque little hill town of Sant’Oreste is 4km away, on top of the ancient Monte Soratte – a lone mountain once marking the northern boundary of ancient Rome. The village provides all amenities, shops and restaurants, etc. as well as the provincial railway with trains going into the centre of Rome.

Although seemingly set in a world of its own, the location is excellent not only for visiting the city of Rome, but also for trips to volcanic Lake Bracciano and the historical villas and gardens near Viterbo as well as Hadrian’s villa at Tivoli, to name just a few.

Local Travel to and from the villa

A car is necessary There are train and bus services into Rome but the car is required to drive the short distance to Sant'Oreste village. You can quite easily rush back for that last evening swim in the pool after a hot day touring the antiquities.

Security deposit: a cheque in the guests' own currency for the equivalent of Euro 500 is due on arrival as a security deposit against eventual damages to the property or its contents. The cheque will be returned on departure when good order has been verified.
