Set high on a hillside south of Rome in 8 acres of park and woodland, with an extraordinary panorama stretching to the Mediterranean sea on the horizon, the villa presents a very particular opportunity for the discerning visitor.

A property of the same family for generations, the interiors still present many of the original furnishings, giving the accommodation an atmosphere of personal charm and history.

The Jupiter apartment has three bedrooms (one double and two with twin beds), two bathrooms, fully equipped live-in kitchen, a very spacious sitting room with fireplace and large French windows opening onto the garden.

The garden offers ample space where guests find all the necessary for dining or relaxing in comfort.

The site was once that of a 2^nd century Roman settlement and while many findings are now museum exhibits, the columns framing the view from the house and the many pieces 'inhabiting' the grounds, as well as the "cavea" of the Roman stone quarry, are still to be admired and enjoyed.

With a wealth of mature trees, Olive groves and Vines on an undulating landscape, the property constitutes a haven of relaxing peace and quiet and the ideal setting for quiet walks while the city of Rome to the north and the coast to the west are both just 30mins away.

The nearby hill towns, favoured by the ancients and still fascinating today, all have their particular history and appeal. The lakes of Nemi (a matter of minutes) Albano and Castelgandolfo (the Pope's summer residence) nestle in these hills and add to the appeal and interest of the surrounding area.

Activities such as tennis, swimming, riding are all available in the vicinity. If you go riding you might actually go through the estate itself. Castelgandolfo golf club is a 10 min. drive.

Rome's antiquities are within 20mins train (30km). Ancient Lanuvio can be reached on foot crossing the estate. The June flower festival and summer concerts are held in Genzano. Day trips are easily made to Tivoli for the famous gardens and Hadrian's villa and to the coastal towns of Anzio or Circeo. Pompeii and Herculaneum are within reach for a day trip (2 hr drive) Don't forget to stroll through the 8 acres of wooded land around the house and visit the ancient Roman remains. Or of course you could nip off to one of the several beaches. For example at beautiful Sabaudia or Circeo.

The main house is divided into two completely independent apartments of which Jupiter is the larger. The apartments are available for rental separately but also together for larger parties.

Security deposit: a cheque in the guests' own currency for the equivalent of Euro 500 is due on arrival as a security deposit against eventual damages to the property or its contents. The cheque will be returned on departure when good order has been verified.

Heating when required is charged extra according to the individual meter reading.
