10,000 square meters of land
(a little under 2.5 acres) with a Hazelnut grove, Olives, Figs, a wood (mostly Oak
+ a lovely Mimosa) and views to a mountain "Monte Soratte". Approx 1 hr drive north of Rome.
Price available on request | Pictures
The land faces W-SW on a gentle slope from the top of which the horizon can
be seen both to the W and E. It includes a substantial hazelnut
grove, 10 mature and well-groomed olive trees, a Fig tree and a 20 sqm tool house. Some
500 square meters are woodland with a mixture of hazelnut and oaks leading down
to a small river tributary (beyond the land's boundary).
The land is divided into two 5000 sqm plots by an access track. The plot borders
with a Hazelnut grove to the north and Olive grove to the south. It is bordered
by woods at the very top and bottom (E and W). The area is almost entirely
agricultural and is particularly recognised for the quality of its Hazelnut and
Olive oil production. Wild boars also inhabit the area.
Further down the country road one can visit the tenth century castle. The area is famed for its history and there are numerous archaeological remains to be visited.
Being in the Valle del Treia natural park area means that a number of outdoor
activities are possible in the vicinity. The medieval hilltop village of Faleria
is a few minutes drive away. The extremely picturesque village Calcata is a
further 5 km down the road. Central Rome is within an hour's drive. Public
transport is also not far. The train service is particularly useful. Pictures
A few minutes drive away from the land for sale, the medieval town of Faleria offers all basic
necessities. The church and Castle are worthy of particular note although the
latter is in a severe state of abandonment.
Extremely picturesque: perched up on a finger of Tufa rock (volcanic) this
medieval hill-top town is worthy of particular note. It is surrounded by a
natural reserve area. Cars are made to park just outside the village walls as
the village is entirely pedestrianised. The views down the cobbled streets,
through arches and onto the vineyards and Olive groves below are breathtaking.
