This family apartment offers the opportunity for appreciative guests to spend
a short time in a private home in one of Rome’s most characteristic quarters.
On the top floor of an
ancient building, the
original beamed
ceilings,
charming interiors and the delightful terrace overlooking the rooftops of old
Rome give the rare pleasure of experiencing the city from the inside.
The accommodation comprises one double bedroom with bathroom, one bedroom
with two single beds and bathroom, large sitting/dining room, fully equipped
kitchen and spacious terrace. The décor reflects the owners’ personal taste and way of life with a very
comfortable combination of antique and modern, along with decorative detail,
which lends a very welcoming air to the whole apartment.

The apartment is situated most
conveniently for visiting the city, with the river, Castel S. Angelo and St.
Peter’s on one side, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon on the other. The
immediate vicinity is rich with historical significance from when in Renaissance
times merchants and bankers built their residences and for then having been the
location of the city government – hence the name of the street
‘Via del
Governo Vecchio’.
Small
artisan shops, centuries-old palazzi with delightful courtyards, beautiful
churches and unmistakeable Roman landmarks such as Borromini’s wonderful 17th
cent. clock tower on the corner of the adjoining square, all contribute to a truly
authentic Roman ambience.
